TT News - December 2009

Dec 11, 2009

Waking up to the torrential rain I thought we were going to be in for a terrible day, but lucky enough after scrutineering was complete the sun started to shine and although a little fresh – I think a generally good day was had by all.

The pace of the walkers is already starting to pick up and one of our 35 teams managed to complete the hike way ahead of schedule. All 35 teams completed the very hilly and slightly slippy in places route, with only a few returning not caked in mud (well done for taking your boots off and changing prior to getting in the van). One note to remember is that whilst energy food and drink is very helpful please do not overload on it and bring other food as well.

I can feel the competition rising between the 45 teams, both of which made it round without many hitches although one of the teams had a little less weight due to them leaving various articles of equipment around their route. I’m not sure if this was a tactic to try but please remember to pick up all your belongings and put them away securely, you don’t want to find you’ve left your food supplies behind!

As for the 55ers all I can really say is – Look at the map!!!! (But well done for getting back on track!)

Overall well done everyone, we hope you enjoyed it (especially the Christmas songs in the bus!)

The vans were a little cleaner this time - just remember to take your rubbish with you!

Merry Christmas, Nat.
