55 report still awaited!
For the 35s a really well done-an excellent walk in Saturday's glorious weather. You all did extremely well to get up ready for both mornings (even if it was a bit dark on the Sunday!). If you completred that hike then you know you can do the real thing - only a couple more miles but about 3 hours extra walking time. A little bit of work still needs to be done on managing bag weights - you have to carry all the items on the list but there is no need to carry excessive supplies.
If anyone from Team A still has the phone please let Bryan know. (How can you misplace this when you need to phone in at each tor?) A list of lost property follows.
The weekend was marred by the break in to the minibus- the first ever time for us. Rich T will collect all that the police have found during the next weekend. Thanks to those of you who have submitted lists of what you think went missing.
Lastly some dates for you and your parents to note:
>> Monday 7 May (Bank Holiday) 7.30pm at 169 scout hut Parents and scouts event briefing
>> Wednesday 9 May from 7.00pm at 169 Scutinering by team. (We will advise team times in due course.)
We will finalise teams immediately after the next weekend hike and let everyone know. Dont forget that we still need reserves who should come down with us on the Friday - complete with their full kit. We know from experience of walkers getting ill the day of the event. Laurence has written 2 letters so far asking schools to allow walkers to miss the last of the English SATS. If you are affected and haven't asked for a letter yet please do so asap rather than leaving it until the last minute.
